**Where I work**

**Life outside the Kitchen door!**

Durban-South Africa

Situated at 30degrees latitude/30 degrees longitude east of Greenwhich Meridian. It has unique moderate weather patterns in comparison to the rest of the country. The temperature is regulated by the Warm Indian Ocean Current ( Benguela Current) Winter lows are uncommon, and in a cold front the temperature can drop to maybe 50F at night. Strangely enough, it can snow 45minutes drive away inland.

This is an aerial pic of close to where I live..The red dot indicates the distance I am from the sea. Its approx 8 mins drive to the seaside.

The river is the Umgeni River, that flows out into the Indian Ocean. The mouth is popularlarly known as Blue Lagoon, and is popular for fishing, picnics and hanging out on weekends, with the beach being home to cyclists,canoeists,runners,surfers,walkers,para-sailors etc.

This is a good pic of Durban towards evening. I hang out at that beach bar sometimes..its called Sand Pebbles. Its a nice place to just play some pool, listen to the live band that sometimes plays, or just realx and watch the waves.Durban, is situated in a unique spot, with the average temperature being around 25 celsius ( I think thats around 55-60F)

This is how the beaches look in summer..This is actually when its really early in the day.By mid afternoon, there are thousands on the beaches, so not much sand is really visible then.

These are pics of where I worked years ago..in the days when tablet punching was more popular.I didnt have a camera when I was 14 though, so dont have any pics of the huge manual punching setup, darkroom, and old fogy light tables that were necessary back then to do 3x and 6x enlargement drawings ...Technology has really been speedy over the last few years though, but thinking back is always fun.

These are the other family members..Nicky the beggar, and Nicky and Phoebe. Phoebe isnt really ours, but just moved in almost permanently. If her owners catch her, then shes not here for a few hours.

This is me..Im browner than that, but sunlight does things.

Proud moment..Susan and I got 1st runner up in the Printwear Cover Contest.
